Being overseas and unable to travel to see mum and dad both in their 80s due to Covid 19 along with sudden death of dad was a shock .Came the daunting task of finding some place to have mum safe and sound in care due to many health issues . As we had no relative no family to reach out to . Searching online and doing face time interviews with different care homes was my only options due to peak lockdowns .Spoke to many teams of agescare but mainly it was about package deals or support staff on phone not very convincing or what they had to offer vs what I was looking for mums care . Some insisted they needed a local guardian to take patient in case of hospitalisation is required and we had non.
Some were to far away from Mumbai and another question was who would be able to transport mum alone and settle her in intercity / inter state home / and are they easy to acess. So these had to be ruled out .
I chanced upon Sahabhaav a Premium Geriatric Care for seniors thru a friend and left a message for them to call back as my last hope.I promptly received a call back from Dr Mini Panicker Founder of Sahabhaav and we spoke almost for 30 min at length about what Sahabhaav had to offer and what were mums needs.Dr Mini was the first person out of so many agecare teams I spoke too who asked about mum about her needs and not about package deals!Gut feeling I knew mum would be safe and well cared here ! And here we are 6 months in with ups and down with mum health, many tears and face times I finally made it back home to visit mum and I’m glad mum is her at Sahaabhav. I’ve spent precious days and lots of time with staff and mum and all I can say is all 25 to 30 staff members are like family. All take wonderful care are very gentle and look in to each and every residents need with love . All of the staff know about each and every residents. Perfectly coordinated handover makes managing the needs of the resident a breeze. There’s Aarti and Yoga and games outings where possible and celebrations done with much fanfare . Regular health check medical appointments to hospitalisation if needed are well taken care off .Regular email updates on health and activity updates on whatsapp group ensured family near and afar would be updated regularly . Sahabhaav would not be Sahabhaav and would not be able to uphold its values without their whole team which is Dr Mini Panicker and her pillar of strengths -Dr Sharma their In-house Physician humble and very caring . Coordinators Amee Jasleen Neelam and Kauser. The nurses Varsha Harshda Malini Snehal. Chefs and caretakers team Kanan Sandeep Shobha Latika and Ratna Reshma and Shyamala to name a few . Kuddos to this team well done.I have come back to my family overseas knowing that Sahabhav is more than home for mum .
DR Mini and team Sahabhaav thank you so much for every thing .:)

A beautiful home away from home, revolutionising old age home services in India. With beautiful and comfortable rooms, wheelchair accessible bathrooms, a lovely clean kitchen and supportive staff, this place, under the supervision of Dr. Mini works each day towards giving the seniors not just care and nurture, but a better standard of living. This Old Age Home has activities every other day like Fluid Art Therapy Workshops, Yoga Classes and much more to keep them entertained and happy. They encourage volunteer activity and after having spent an afternoon here, I feel happy and content to have brought joy to somebody’s life! I’d pledge you all to go and spend an afternoon or an evening there! Left with feelings of gratitude!

Sahabhaav.. togetherness… A place where people live together under a roof, those who cannot help themselves, especially the elders. Of course it’s a paid facility but unlike many other similar establishments, value for money is ensured. What’s more, the person running the place is very much involved personally in its running, and open to suggestion. This open mindedness instils confidence in those committing their kin for care to this institution.
My experience with this place came about when my wife, an ex Mumbai Kar, now settled with me, in Kerala sought out a place for respite care for her sister in law, who after the demise of her husband was doing poorly, and had contracted COVID from where she was being treated for her ailments.
She needed supervised personal care and as there was enough wherewithal to meet day to day expenses, we decided upon Sahabhav, though reputed to be a wee bit more expensive than other similar places. Heartened by the positive demeanour of Dr. Mini who runs Sahabhaav, we took the plunge.
True to her word, the good doctor taking tips from us who are doctors ourselves, and in consultation with local experts, brought our cousin
to a semblance of health, during which time her oedema, and bed sores abated, and she started taking positive interest in life. A fine example of the caretaker’s optimism and positivity flowing into the receiver of care. She’d even gone out of the way to provide certain food items she relished prepared by herself, it’s reported. We also endorse her sincerity in keeping us abreast of her ward’s condition over phone and Whatsapp. And the involvement with which she undertook visits to consultants with the ward, as if that lady were her own relative.
We believe that all there get this 100%,personalized attention, which augurs well for those being taken care of at Sahabhaav, and for the institution itself. As promised, our cousin became fit enough, to travel to Kerala in about 2 months, the arrangements for which were undertaken by
Sahabhaav. What’s more she was sent chaperoned by a trained caretaker which laid all our worry and concern to rest. The icing on the cake was that we also came to share intimacy with Dr. Mini, a Keralite, by coincidence, something which is rare in these times when even intimate relations are becoming more and more commercial.
I think summing up I’d vouch for Sahabhaav a place that gives service value for every dime we spend, and maybe even more than that. I wish, that this oasis remains viable and vibrant under Dr. Mini’s warm personality.

The vibes when you enter Sahabhaav radiate a sense of belongingness.Care is the most beautiful word which makes life richer and you can experience every bit of it at Sahabhaav. The professional and well trained staff provide all the attention that elderly seniors need.Prayers in the morning and evening prayer before dinner give an essence of spirituality and tranquility. One may feel that the cost is a little on the expensive side, but its worth every penny and the Sahabhaav team deserves every bit of it to take care of our seniors.Dr Mini and Amee are just par excellence, they leave no stone unturned to make the life of the seniors as comfortable as possible. Our very bestest wishes that they continue to successfully carry out
    their noble deeds always!!!!!

A concept like this is WELL PRICED !
I’ve never seen a parent smile so very much on their monthly outing they are taken out here at Sahabhaav. It brought me to tears just trying to read their expressions coming out of those picture books of memories of past golden oldies (Goldies) screaming from the walls they are adorn with!
Some kith have rented out the now vacant premises of their goldies thereby earning a handsome rental income to supplement costs. Today the most budget hotel with granite flooring in Mumbai comes at a minimum cost of Rs 3,000 per night ! …. That too no food !!
I have seen doctors visit with regular follow ups as though each case is THEIR own !
Kudos Team Sahabhaav Cheers to Doctor Mini and Ms Amee Shah and Kausar and Shobha mavshi. Together they ROCK!
