What is the purpose of Palliative care?

Palliative care is given to relieve the elderly from symptoms of chronic disease and to give them support during advanced treatment.

Patients with chronic illnesses, cancer, advanced age, or life-limiting conditions can benefit from palliative care to manage symptoms and receive emotional and psychological support.

We provide pain and symptom management, emotional support, counseling, medication management, nursing care, spiritual support, and assistance with daily activities.

By the year 2026, about 4% of the total population of India will have access to palliative care. Unlike urban cities, the rural areas are still far from getting the proper palliative care access.

The average cost of palliative care depends on the location, services offered, and many other factors. It is estimated that the palliative care costs can vary from ₹5000 to ₹10000.

Individuals who have a serious illness, such as cancer, heart disease, lung disease, or kidney failure, may suffer from physical or emotional pain associated with their condition.

Although they are related, hospice care and palliative care are not the same. Palliative care can be used in conjunction with curative therapies at any point during a patient's illness. End-of-life care is the main focus of hospice.

Palliative care can last as long as the seniors want; there is no time limit. Whether your loved ones are suffering from a short-term illness or managing a chronic condition, palliative care will be helpful.

The palliative care team includes a palliative care doctor, registered nurse, caregiver, patient care coordinator, and patient engagement specialists.

Palliative health care services can be generally classified as,
  • Palliative care services at home
  • Palliative care services in the clinic
  • Palliative care in the hospital
  • Palliative care in the assisted living facilities.
