On single-user, single-app computers, the operating system and an application must share the resources they require in order for the application to perform well. Ideally, it is possible for each user to have their own copy of each application, and for each copy of an application to be completely isolated from all the others. Autodesk® AutoCAD® software has been designed to work this way. When multiple copies of AutoCAD® are running simultaneously, they all share the same resources. Each application has its own resource requirements:

Memory: an application requires a certain amount of memory to do its job, so that it can store what it needs for its working set. The working set of an application is the part of the application that is in use at any one time. AutoCAD® software can run as many different Autodesk® AutoCAD® versions simultaneously, and each version of the software has a different working set. The number of drawings that can be in use simultaneously by different versions of the software is dictated by your computer’s available memory and the way AutoCAD® is installed. It is not possible to install AutoCAD® on a computer with less than one gigabyte (GB) of memory.

Processor: the number of processors, or CPUs, that can be running the software at any one time. There is a limit to how many drawings can be in use at the same time by different versions of AutoCAD®, as well

AutoCAD Architecture and AutoCAD Electrical were originally based on AutoLISP. When those products were sold by Autodesk, they used a modified version of AutoLISP called Visual LISP.

As of AutoCAD 2020, AutoLISP has been retired, and support for Visual LISP and VBA has been discontinued. The introduction of the ObjectARX API means that AutoCAD can now be extended using C++ code. A number of AutoCAD macros use AutoLISP-derived code and are no longer supported.

Visual LISP

Visual LISP (Visual Basic for Applications) was a programming language based on Visual Basic, developed by Autodesk and specifically for use with AutoCAD. Visual LISP was a light weight programming language with a unique notation and syntax. The lisp reference manual (written for AutoCAD at the time) explained that it was intended for relatively untrained programmers, in the same way that AutoLISP is designed to be for relatively untrained AutoCAD users. There were several interfaces with Visual LISP available including COM (supporting AutoCAD 2002), ActiveX (supporting AutoCAD 2000 and later), and XML-RPC (supporting AutoCAD 2004 and later). XML-RPC is the only interface that is still supported. The following interfaces were discontinued:
COM. AutoCAD 2003 introduced a new version of Visual LISP COM that was incompatible with the previous version, AutoCAD 2002.
ActiveX. Support for ActiveX was discontinued in AutoCAD 2008 and 2009.
XML-RPC. Support for XML-RPC was discontinued in AutoCAD 2009.

Visual LISP provided a number of functions that were either required or recommended for AutoCAD users. These included an array with a special data type, that could be used in an array formula. An equation editor was also available, which allowed users to edit formulas within the drawing.

AutoCAD Architecture

AutoCAD Architecture was an AutoCAD module designed to allow for the creation of custom parts for AutoCAD. The first release of AutoCAD Architecture was made available in late 2004 as a part of AutoCAD 2006. The AutoCAD Architecture module was based on ObjectARX and Visual LISP.

AutoCAD Architecture consisted of the following three parts:

For all intents and purposes, WordPress is now the world’s most popular CMS solution. The ability to create robust websites has made WordPress a popular web content management system (CMS) among webmasters. Webmasters have always been looking for ways to optimize their websites and WordPress is one of the most versatile CMS solutions out there today. In this post, I’ll outline a few tips to help you get the most out of WordPress to optimize your websites.

Content: Getting Users To Convert

It’s no secret that the user interface of a website will be the major factor in the success of the website and WordPress is a favorite among webmasters due to its ease of use. But if users are unable to find what they are looking for on your website, then the next step is to convert them into paying customers. How to convert users?

Create relevant content – The more you can offer your users, the more likely they are to convert. Focus on creating unique content that is both informative and entertaining. Think of any story that’s relevant to your business. For example, if you sell mobile phones, create a story about the dangers of swallowing foreign objects.

Contain a call to action – If you’re trying to get users to convert, then you need to tell them how to do it. People don’t like to be told what to do, so if you want them to take action, be sure to include a call to action in your content. For example, if you sell mobile phones, include the number for a customer service representative in your website content.

Stop relying on a search engine – Don’t rely on a search engine to bring you customers. The search engine algorithms are not easy to predict. If you rely on a search engine, you are leaving your customers in the hands
